Compare Overlord and Warcryer through Chronicle 1 seals, chants, MP planning and the correct second-class transfer quests.
Orc Mystic advances through Orc Shaman before branching to Overlord or Warcryer. The C1 skill records point to different support decisions: Overlord has Paagrio effects and seals around a clan-oriented toolkit, while Warcryer develops chants for party play. Both still manage MP, skill items and personal survival. Decide whether your usual activity is clan-scale coordination or a compact hunting party before treating either destination as a universal buffer.
Overlord's list includes
Seal of Winter,
Seal of Binding and
Heart of Paagrio. Warcryer has
Chant of Life,
Chant of Shielding and later
Chant of Fury. These names show the direction of each tree but not a complete ready-to-use bar at level 40. Read individual ranks and targets before planning a composition; an effect useful for one encounter can be a poor use of MP in another.
| Second class | Recorded C1 skill examples | Group question |
|---|---|---|
| Overlord | Are clan support and enemy control part of your play? | |
| Warcryer | Does your hunting party need repeatable chants and recovery? |
A seal is not interchangeable with a direct damage spell. Check the target and effect of
Seal of Winter or
Seal of Binding in the C1 record, then ask whether the party can capitalize on it before spending MP. Overlord also keeps
Steal Essence as a personal option. During a mixed pull, positioning and target calls remain essential: landing a debuff on one enemy does not make the others safe.
Warcryer's
Chant of Life and
Chant of Shielding can support repeated pulls, while
Chant of Fury appears later in its second-class progression. Check who receives each effect, how long it lasts and which item is needed to learn it. A strong buff plan can fail when the caster arrives without MP or the correct amulet. Compare the party's next ten fights, not only the largest number on one character sheet.
Learning a C1 Orc skill can require SP and its matching amulet. Check the skill page and item record before buying every amulet seen in a market. Reserve adena for weapon grade, shots, healing and the journey to the next trainer. The best upgrade is one your character can learn and sustain now; an expensive item held for a distant rank does not help today's party.
Place each path beside the same tank, damage dealer and healer in the C1 Char Builder. Inspect which effects are actually available at the party's level, then run a familiar mob route and record MP recovery, deaths and time between pulls. Test clan activity separately from a small hunt if both matter to you. This makes the decision about your group rather than a generic class ranking.
Both destinations share Trial of the Pilgrim and Testimony of Glory. The final Test differs: Test of the Lord for Overlord and Test of the War Spirit for Warcryer. The linked 3-in-1 guide groups the proper three quest chains and preserves their travel and proof items. Look at the class skill list beside it so the transfer objective and ability you want line up.
