Compare the Elven song and Dark Elven dance paths with recorded skill unlocks, weapon plans and exact second-class quests.
Swordsinger follows Elven Knight; Bladedancer follows the Dark Elven Palus Knight. Both bring short-window group support while staying in melee range, but their mapped C1 skills and equipment paths are different. Swordsinger begins with protective songs and sword or blunt mastery. Bladedancer gains dances alongside dual-weapon mastery and offensive tools. Choose for the group you expect to join, and keep enough defenses to stand near the fight.
The native skill tree lists
Song of Warding and
Dance of Fire at level 40. Later rows add
Song of Wind and
Song of Hunter on the Elven side, and
Dance of Inspiration,
Dance of Mystic and
Dance of Fury on the Dark Elven side. A level-40 party should not budget around a level-58 effect. Inspect each linked rank for its target and cost; the names describe a toolkit, not a promise that every effect can be maintained in every fight.

Bladedancer's
Dual Weapon Mastery gives a clear reason to inspect dual swords; a generic one-handed sword does not demonstrate that path's fighting style. Swordsinger's recorded
Sword Blunt Mastery instead keeps the weapon decision tied to its own class skills. Compare a weapon's grade, shot cost and defenses before purchasing a pair for its appearance. If your role is to keep group effects available, running out of supplies can cost more than a small damage difference.
Before a hunt, agree whether the group needs safer incoming damage, movement between targets or stronger attacks. Swordsinger can contribute
Elemental Heal and later
Song of Life; Bladedancer can apply
Hex and use its own attacks while preparing dances. Neither path turns a poorly controlled multi-monster pull into a safe one by itself. Watch MP, position and the next target call so the support skill is available before the dangerous part of the fight.
Set each class at the party's real level in the C1 Char Builder and inspect the skill list rather than comparing two completed trees. Put the same tank, healer and damage dealer beside both options. Then test an ordinary camp for several pulls: how quickly does the group kill, how much HP or MP remains, and how often does it stop? This tells you whether the next investment is a support skill, a safer weapon or simply better target discipline.
Both paths use Trial of the Challenger and Test of the Duelist, but Swordsinger needs Testimony of Life while Bladedancer needs Testimony of Fate. Follow the destination's 3-in-1 guide for the sequence of NPCs and proof items. A copied route can take you to the wrong testimony despite sharing the first and last quest titles. Complete the appropriate chain before expecting the second-class skills to appear.
