Plan C and B grade Chronicle 1 weapons and armor around native Expertise, shot use, class skills, recipes and the total cost of a session.
The C1 class skill data links Expertise to D at level 20, C at 40 and B at 52. The level 40 second profession is therefore a natural time to compare C-grade gear, while a B-grade purchase needs a separate eligibility check at 52. These are character-level milestones, not a claim that every class should immediately replace every slot. Inspect your current class skills and the exact item's grade first. A stronger weapon bought too early ties up adena that could support a working C-grade setup and its consumables.
| Character level | Grade checkpoint | Practical question |
|---|---|---|
| Before 20 | No Grade | What can I use consistently now? |
| 20 | D Grade | Can I fund the matching shots? |
| 40 | C Grade | Which weapon fits my second profession? |
| 52 | B Grade | Does the upgrade improve a whole hunting session? |
Four native C1 item records show why the attack number is only the beginning. A and an are both C grade, but their skill fit, range, ammunition and Soulshot use differ sharply. and are B-grade examples, not automatic upgrades for a dagger or a caster. The shot counts below are recorded per activation for each weapon. Compare weapons within the role your class can use, then price a normal sequence of attacks; do not rank a bow against a sword by P.Atk alone.
| C1 weapon | Grade / type | P.Atk | Soulshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| C · dagger | 136 | 3 | |
| C · bow | 323 | 10 | |
| B · sword | 175 | 1 | |
| B · bow | 400 | 3 |
Magic-focused characters should inspect M.Atk, the skills they actually cast and the matching Spiritshot grade. is a C-grade sword with a recorded 101 M.Atk and three Spiritshots per use. is a B-grade blunt weapon with 132 M.Atk and one recorded Spiritshot per use. Those figures do not tell you final spell damage or MP sustainability. Test how many useful casts the new setup produces before resting, and remember that a B weapon also changes the grade of shots you must supply.
| C1 weapon | Grade | M.Atk | Spiritshots |
|---|---|---|---|
| C | 101 | 3 | |
| B | 132 | 1 |
At C grade, compare the armor you wear as a set of slots: required pieces, optional pieces, armor type and any signed set bonus. The native C1 set catalogue currently describes No Grade, D and C sets. It does not justify borrowing a B-grade set effect from a later chronicle. B-grade armor items exist in the C1 item records, but inspect each piece and its acquisition route without assuming an unverified combination bonus. Keep jewelry and its magical defense in the budget if incoming spells are the reason a hunt fails.
The purchase price is paid once; shots are paid throughout every hunt. For a simple physical estimate, multiply the weapon's recorded Soulshots per attack by your attacks in a typical session, then by your actual server price per shot. Add arrows for a bow and compare the total with the older setup. For magic, repeat the calculation with Spiritshots or Blessed Spiritshots and include MP recovery. The C-grade Soulshot recipe below shows one real C1 batch and its ingredients; use its output quantity rather than assuming all grades craft the same amount.
An item appearing in the C1 catalogue does not mean it is on a nearby vendor or affordable in the player market. Open its acquisition record, inspect a recipe if one exists and check which materials can be gathered through drops or spoil. Then compare the cost of buying the finished weapon with making it from inputs you can actually source. Do not invent a universal adena price: server economy and supply decide that. If crafting requires rare parts your group cannot obtain, a smaller immediately usable improvement may produce more value over the next several sessions.
Before level 40, save enough to enter the C-grade milestone with supplies rather than only an empty purse and a new weapon. At 40, try a class-appropriate C weapon, matching shots and the armor that solves your current survival problem. At 52, compare one B item against the C setup you can already maintain. Keep the old benchmark for a short hunt and record damage pace, MP or HP recovery, consumable spend and interruptions. The upgrade succeeds when the full loop improves, not when one tooltip number rises.
| Checkpoint | Keep if it works | Change when |
|---|---|---|
| Approaching 40 | Reliable D setup and supplies | C Expertise and a funded C option arrive |
| At 40 | Useful C weapon and armor | A class skill or hunt reveals a bottleneck |
| At 52 | Proven C hunting loop | A B item improves results after shot and acquisition cost |
