Follow Dark Elf quests and nearby hunts from the Temple of Shilen through the swamp and toward the School of Dark Arts.
The Dark Elf tutorial begins at the Temple of Shilen. Nearby C1 monsters progress from
Young Brown Keltir at level 1 to
Ashen Wolf at level 4,
Goblin at level 5 and Imp at level 6. Finish the tutorial and use these fights to judge whether the character can maintain a short loop without exhausting HP or MP. Do not attack a creature only because it stands near a novice area: the native Temple record also contains level 50
Bloody Pixy and
Blight Treant entries.
Chains of Slavery is a repeatable level 1 quest from Dark Elven Village. Shilen’s Hunt is a one-time level 3 quest; Orc Subjugation is repeatable from level 8; Forgotten Truth is one-time from level 10. These different structures affect how long each objective deserves a place in your route. Open the quest record for its NPC and target, then choose the one that overlaps your current hunting ground instead of collecting every quest without a plan.
| C1 quest | Starts at | How it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Elf's Tutorial | 1 | Temple opening |
| Chains of Slavery | 1 | Repeatable village hunt |
| Shilen’s Hunt | 3 | One-time progression |
| Orc Subjugation | 8 | Repeatable level 8 option |
| Forgotten Truth | 10 | One-time village quest |
The Swampland record lists
Blood Fungus at level 12,
Marsh Zombie at level 13,
Lesser Dark Horror at level 15 and
Dark Horror at level 16. That spread makes the swamp a better test than a promise of equal fights everywhere. Compare a few targets and note the cost of recovery, especially when a Mystic has to cast repeatedly or a Fighter takes several hits. Turn back before a difficult pull is compounded by a long return route.
The School of Dark Arts begins with recorded level 8 entries such as
Balor Orc Archer, but also contains level 12
Blood Fungus and deeper threats. A low entrance level does not make every corridor suitable. Scout the first room, keep the way out clear and avoid committing all supplies on the way in. If a quest sends you there, verify its target and destination rather than assuming the whole school must be cleared.
Another nearby direction is the Altar of Rites. Its C1 record includes level 11
Tumran Orc Brigand and level 14
Stone Soldier, so it can be compared with the swamp and school without treating any of them as a mandatory next stop. Pick the route that combines a usable quest, repeatable fights and a safe return. The best choice can change immediately after a skill level or equipment upgrade.
A Dark Elf can move toward Assassin, Palus Knight, Dark Wizard or Shillien Oracle. Those paths change the skills and gear worth planning for. Check the class page and level 19 transfer quest before spending heavily on a weapon or armor choice that only helps the opening levels. The village route should deliver a stable character and a clear next objective, not a fixed schedule for every class.
