Plan an Elf opening from the Mother Tree Glade through local quests and level-matched hunts before testing Elven Fortress.
The Elf tutorial starts at the Mother Tree Glade, not in the middle of Elven Village. Native C1 records place
Young Red Keltir at level 1,
Red Keltir at level 2 and
Gray Wolf at level 4 in this starting area. Finish the tutorial and inspect the first trainer and shop options in the village before moving toward tougher forest targets. The aim is a short, repeatable circuit that leaves enough HP or MP for the walk back.
Fruit of the Mothertree starts at level 3 in Elven Village. Hunt the Orcs becomes available at level 6 and is recorded as repeatable, while Skirmish with the Orcs is a separate one-time level 10 quest. These are not interchangeable just because they mention Orcs. Read the linked records for their specific NPCs and targets, then combine compatible objectives with a hunt you would make anyway. Check the return point before going into the forest.

Lake Iris records include
Kaboo Orc Grunt at level 7,
Green Dryad at level 8 and
Kaboo Orc Fighter at level 10. That sequence is useful when the glade stops challenging your character but a dungeon pull still costs too much. Compare targets by level, travel and recovery rather than moving simply because a quest is available. Be careful with unfamiliar creatures near the glade: the same native area record includes much higher-level Pixy and
Treant entries.
Elven Fortress begins with
Baraq Orc Fighter at level 10, then lists
Dungeon Skeleton at level 12 and deeper enemies above that. Those records describe a rising range, not a single recommended level for every room. Enter with a clear return plan, test a small number of pulls and leave when recovery becomes longer than the hunt. A Fighter and a Mystic can use the same entrance while needing very different amounts of supplies and support.
Early quests and hunting build the levels for the first profession, but the transfer is its own objective. Before buying gear for the next stretch, look at the Elven Knight, Scout, Wizard and Oracle paths in the C1 class records. The needed weapon, armor and learned skills can change which monsters feel efficient. A quest route that is comfortable as a base Elf may need adjustment after the class change.
Stay near Elven Village while its quests and repeatable fights fit your level and budget. Move toward other towns once the available objectives, class training or equipment needs justify the travel. Check teleport connections and fares in the C1 route tool before taking the longest trip. The goal is to carry useful progress out of the starting area, not to clear every forest creature before leaving.
